Callulops mediodiscus
 
Family : MICROHYLIDAE
Species size (snout to vent) :  At least 45 mm (based on this sighting)

Photographed and shared in 2004, these are the first images of a new, undescribed species of Callulops found in the Moran area at 1600 metres elevation. Subsequently, Callulops mediodiscus was formally described in 2012 from a specimen acquired 4 km to the northwest of this record (Oliver et al, 2012).

Date : April 2004
Location :
Southern Highlands Province, PNG
Elevation : 1600 metres
Size (snout-to-vent) : 45 mm
Call : A loud, rattle of 5 to 10 notes, lasting one or two seconds.
Habitat : Road-cutting in limestone karst, surrounded by primary forest.
